The Jewish State Through the Eyes of Her Poets
Wednesday, March 22, 2023 • 29 Adar 5783
7:30 PM - 9:00 PMYasgur/Lipner homeA lively discussion of selected poems in honor of Israel’s 75th Anniversary in a “Book Club” format designed by Dr. Barry Chazan, pioneer in Jewish education, professor emeritus, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and founding international director of Taglit-Birthright Israel.
History books, newspapers, and journals propose to tell us the story of what happened. Poets describe what happens inside the body and the soul. In this “literary salon,” we will see Israel’s evolution through new lenses as we read and discuss a selection of pre- and post- state poems. Join this exploration into the heart and soul of what happened as expressed by some of the Israel’s most sensitive, thoughtful, and evocative writers.
Please register by March 15. Registration is required so that participants can receive reading materials in advance of the event.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
