Returning to Har Sinai: Empowering our Inner Teacher in a Post-October 7th World

 This shiur is our annual showcasing of Women’s Torah scholarship. Marilynn, who passed away in 2007, was a passionate advocate of women’s Torah learning and this annual shiur pays tribute to her vision and her memory.

Miriam Heller Stern, PhD is Incoming CEO of Builders of Jewish Education, Los Angeles. She is a leader, scholar, strategist and consultant, having directed the graduate schools of education at Hebrew Union College and AJU for over fifteen years. Her most recent publication, "Jewish Creativity: An Essential Aspiration for Jewish Education" is a call to educators across the Jewish spectrum to empower learners to develop chidushim, novel of ideas of value, reclaiming a historic legacy of Jewish creativity. She is the founder of Beit HaYotzer, the Creativity Braintrust, and advises various initiatives to improve and advance Jewish education nationally and globally. 

Locally, Dr. Stern has served on the boards of Shalhevet, theatre dybbuk and various committees of Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy. She has been proud to call Los Angeles home for over two decades together with her husband Jonathan, and their three children, Elijah, Judah and Zoe.
