Boomers' Friday Night Dinner *New Date*

Friday, March 4, 2022 1 Adar II 5782

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMB’nai David-Judea

Let Ta-eem Grill do the Shabbat cooking, and you do the connecting! BDJ Boomers are invited to join for a catered community meal, intelligent conversation and connection!

After dinner we will hear from our guest speaker, an inspiring humanitarian, Roger Haines, (also known to us as Laurel Schramm's father), whose topic will be “Making a Difference”. Roger will share his experiences over decades of helping to build a $2 million hospital in Atiak, Uganda, promoting solar cooking in Africa, Mexico, and Haiti, and most recently helping to resettle over 1000 Afghan evacuees in San Diego (with generous financial assistance from B’nai David Judea).

Roger Haines is a retired Assistant U.S. Attorney and the author of the best-selling treatise on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. He is Board Chair of the Alliance for African Assistance, a San Diego refugee resettlement agency with branches in Rome, Italy, Nairobi, Kenya, and Gulu, Uganda. He is also a Board member of Solar Household Energy, a Washington D.C. promoter of solar energy. In addition, he is on the Board of the 500-member Rotary Club of San Diego, and co-chair of its International Committee. More importantly, however, he is Zaide to Keshet, Aviya, Tirtza and Eitan Schramm.

In the notes section, please indicate any dietary restrictions and/or if you would like a vegetarian meal.
