Seudah Shlishit Lecture with Ariel Horowitz
Saturday, April 26, 2025 • 28 Nisan 5785
7:00 PMPlease join us at Seudah Shlishit for the third session of our Yom Ha'atzmaut Shabbaton with Ariel Horowitz:
The Future of Hebrew
Ariel will discuss the role of Hebrew in Israeli and Jewish life, and the potentially precarious status of Hebrew in the future. The point of departure is personal for Ariel, with the story of his grandfather, a pioneer of Hebrew studies in America. Ariel will draw upon the differences between Hebrew and Yiddish in Jewish history, and we will think together about the meaning of writing in Hebrew today and the possibility of a diasporic Hebrew.
