MEMBERSHIP

Dear Friends,

After another inspiring year of spirited davening, thoughtful study and vital interaction with our world, it is time to start planning for the High Holidays. While it might seem like a far-off season to you as you set off on your summer schedules, the next two months are crucial to our planning for the upcoming year.

That is especially true now, since last year we reached our highest number of members in recent memory, with more than 280 families.

Among the largest challenges that blessing presents is High Holiday seating. For that reason, we are asking that you get your membership forms in by Aug. 10 – even if you assume we know you’re coming, even if you NEVER get them in on time and it’s never mattered before, even if you think it’s ridiculous to think about Rosh Hashanah when you have just celebrated Fourth of July.

Your task is simple: GET YOUR MEMBERSHIP FORMS IN ON TIME. Seats will be held until Aug. 10, and after that seats go on sale to non-members. (For details, see enclosed “New Seating Policy.”)

Enclosed you will find:

  • Membership Application: Due August 10. Please fill out this form completely (do not write “same as last year”).

Payment Plan Options:

  • Up to 12 equal post-dated checks beginning no later than September 1, 2007 and ending not later than August 31, 2008 and dated either the 1st or the 15th of the month.
  • By credit card authorization of up to 10 payments beginning no later than September 1, 2007 and ending not later than June 30, 2008 and dated the 1st of the month.

Of course, it is the policy of BDJ that no one will be turned away due to financial hardship.  Please speak with Amram Hassan, BDJ’s Executive Director if you have any questions or concerns.

If you know of anyone who would like to receive a membership package, please call the shul’s office with their name and address.

We look forward to each of you joining us, for the High Holidays and the coming year.

Shana Tova,

Amram Hassan

Executive Director
