Join your fellow BDJ members for our very own Big Sunday. Mitzvah Day is an opportunity for the entire family to participate in helping the community. There's something for everyone, so join us and register online to help make a difference on Sunday, December 5.

All events will be held at B'nai David-Judea.

Annual Hanukkah Toy Drive Wrapping

Drop off Hanukkah toys to be brought to needy children in our community in partnership with the Tomchei Shabbos organization.

Drop off available at BDJ from November 1st through December 1st, but for those who are unable to participate in other activities, we encourage you to drop your unwrapped, new gift off on Sunday, Dec. 5, and help us wrap the toys and write Hanukkah cards.

When: 3:00 p.m.

Giving Spirit Packaging

A volunteer favorite!  Join BDJ, YICC and Beth Am as we package kits for the homeless of LA.  Last year we prepared over 1,800 blankets and put together 1,250 personal hygiene kits.   This year we are set to make 2,800 subassemblies!!

When: 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Suggested participants: Everyone is welcome. An especially good project for teens.

Alcott Center Hanukkah Party

The Alcott Center is a nonprofit mental health facility that helps integrate their consumers into the larger community. We will celebrate Hanukkah together with a festive party complete with homemade decorations and Menorah lighting.

When: 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Suggested participants: Entire family is welcome, including young children
