CAMP BDJ - Kiddushes
Dear BDJ members:
Renovations are underway at our shul, and we are enjoying
the adventure of new and acoustically different davening experiences.
During this time, it is especially important that we maintain
our sense of community with each other and welcome to those
who are new among us.
Kiddushes have always been a vital part of this goal, and
we look forward to continuing them through "Camp BDJ."
We have had two successful kiddushes so far, thanks to the
Hassan and Kent families. Many people have already asked how
they can help, so we have come up with these guidelines:
--Sponsoring a Kiddush--
You may have a simcha or special date in mind that you would
like to reserve, or let us pick the date.
We suggest simple fare, such as Entenman's pastries, chips
and soda to keep costs down and set-up easier. Based on the
100+ people that have come to each kiddush so far, the estimated
cost would be about $150. Two custodians will be available
to help with set-up and clean-up.
If you like, you can co-sponsor with friends by splitting
up the cost and shopping responsibilities.
In order to make kiddushes accessible to as many people as
possible, we have set up recommended boundaries for hosting:
North- Pico, East- Robertson, South- Oakmore, West- Glenville
If you don't live close enough, you can ask a friend to host
for you or fill out choice (2) below and we'll set you up
with someone.
1. _______ I would like to sponsor a kiddush at my home
Special date?___________________
Your name? ___________________
2. _______ I would like to sponsor a kiddush, but live too
far away.
Special date?___________________
Your name? _____________________
(Pick one) __________ I'll ask a friend who lives closer to
host __________ Set me up with a volunteer family's house
3. _______ I can offer my home to host.
Your name:______________________
4. _______ I cannot sponsor at this time, but would like
to help out with (This would be one of the following: picking
up the shopping for pastries/sodas/paper goods, setting up,
or cleaning up.
Your name:______________________
We hope these options will allow everyone to be able to participate
in this important mitzvah over this spring and summer.
We would appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as
possible so that we can start arranging a schedule.
Thank you!
